The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a 17 count charge

EFCC files N1.5bn charges against FFK, Nenadi Usman, others

 
 
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a 17 count charge against a former Aviation Minister and spokesman for the PDP Presidential campaign in the 2015 general election, Femi Fani-Kayode over an alleged N1.5 billion fraud. Also included in the charge sheet are former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, a company named Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, one Danjuman Yusuf and another Olubode Oke, who is reportedly on the run.

The case is yet to be assigned to a judge and so a date for the hearing has not been fixed. While Fani-Kayode was named in all 17 counts, the former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman was named in only four of the charges.

Part of the charges against them reads
"Usman, Fani-Kayode, Yusuf And Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited on or about January 8, 2015, within the jurisdiction of the Court conspired to indirectly retain the sum of 1.5 Billion Naira, a sum the EFCC said they reasonably ought to have known formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act of stealing. They, therefore, committed an offence contrary to Section 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012. The Offence is punishable under Section 15(3) & 4 of the same Act,2".
Bank representatives  and others have been listed as witnesses.

Minister of Defence Brigadier General Mansur Dan-Ali yesterday justified the retirement of 38 senior officers of the Nigeria Army, saying they were found guilty of “professional corruption,” hence they were sent packing.

Dan-Ali said this while answering questions after presenting a paper to the participants of National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria Course 24, Abuja that the investigation into the issues that led to the compulsory retirement of the senior officers was thoroughly carried out, as it is the tradition in the Nigeria Army and the officers were found to be guilty, even after given their testimonies through interrogation.

The minister said, “Of course they were giving fair hearing, a board called them and they went and testified. Don’t forget that in the military there is no half way of doing things, the moment you are found wanting, you have to succumb and you will go,” he said.

Also, Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai yesterday explained that the Nigerian Army followed due diligence before arriving at the decision to retire the 38 officers.
Answering questions from newsmen after a visit to Communication Technology Minister Adebayo Shittu, Buratai explained that the process that led to the retirement of the officers started with enquiry from one division GOC to the other after which the findings were subjected to legal review before the recommendations were forwarded to higher authority for consideration.

Buratai said, “We started with enquiry from one division GOC to the other. After that, we subjected it to legal review, after the legal review, we forwarded our recommendations to higher authority for consideration. So, it took us time.”

“Like court process, we have our own process also. Our administrative process, dovetailing into our legal review and so on. I think this is the better time, there is no other better time than now.”
In a related development, Acting Director Army Public Relations (AgDAPR) Col. Sani Usman said the lists of officers published by some media organisations (not The Guardian) are false and contrary to what truly obtained.

Usman, therefore, said members of the public should disregard the unconfirmed published names, describing the conduct of the media houses as unethical and unfair.
“This is worrisome as some individuals and media houses went to the ridiculous extent of publishing up to 50 unconfirmed outrageous names, even of still serving officers as being retired,” Usman said.

"The Igbo residents of Magbo ,Obada Zone 5 Community of Fortune Estate in Agbara, Lagos has cried out and sent a save our soul {SOS} message to the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase in a matter of urgency to set up a panel of enquires into the recent Brutalization of a Member of their community, Mr. Chukwuka Paul by the Men of the Nigeria Police force Area k, as they pounced on Mr. Paul and his wife beating them to Coma before he was taken into custody for close to 72 hour without concrete Evidence against the gentleman and his family.
It was gathered that on Thursday 19th of may 2016, about 8 heavy armed men storm the residence of Paul Chukwuka where he also has his house finishing material store, order him to enter their vehicle, while the latter was trying to know why such arrest is for him, they bounce on him as if they gave them Order to brutalized him, he was handcuffed beaten and while his wife Ebele Paul and their little child were shouting for help from the Neighbors, his wife too were beaten and stripped naked in the present of sympathizers.

He was taking to Area K command where he was detained for over 72 hours, beaten severally with different wound scattered all over his body, he was later released on bail. In our attempt to Investigate the cause of such Magnitude of brutality in this model democratically world, some media House visited Obada zone 5 to hear from some eyes witness to the scenario, this paper was one of the media house that visited the area, our first call point was with the chairman of the Igbo community in Obada and it Patron. Mr. Samuel Egwu and Alex Nwagwu respectively.

Speaking with the media, the president Obada zone 5 Igbo Community, Samuel Egwu lamented the unprofessional conduct of the men of the police force from Area K command on how they carried out the arrest of Mr. police a member of his community, hear him, yes I gathered that there was a transaction between Paul and this woman in question,paul sold a bed to that woman and after 3 years the woman refuses to pay back and you know that in business no company gives three year guaranty, so I learnt that Mr. Paul asked for his money and the woman went straight to Area K to lay allegation that Mr. Paul beat her, the police just come bounce on the gentle man beat him together with his wife and child, please I asked is it proper, without asking about the genesis of the disagreement between the two of them, look before now we believe police is our friend but now it clear that they are our enemies, you just act on one side story and start to brutalize an innocent soul, we want to use this opportunity to call on the inspector general of police Solomon Arase to please in a matter of urgent set up a panel of enquiries to know what really happen before his men kill all of us in this community. I am really disappointed in Nigeria police. I will also want to call on our amiable governor to come to the aid of our community in term of road and drainage because when its rain our children were always at home because the flood is always too much he concluded. Also speaking in the same vein, the patron of Igbo community Obada fortune estate Alex nwagwu lambast the Nigeria police for their action in the area, he said for men of the police force to handle a very sensitive cases like that, then some of their men lack professionalism, if you have some of those men as your friend then you don’t have friend because they did not have regards for human being, look people are always afraid to see the police , I have travel wide and far, I do ask some of them that do they actually g for training before you were employed, I think the police IG need to know the kind of people the force should be engaged, I think the IG need to call them to other, because they are tarnishing the image of Nigeria to our foreign visitors. Please let the police boss look into this unholy brutalization of our member. We also met with the victim of that brutalization by the men of the Nigeria police force, Area K command led by one Moses.

In his reaction Mr. Paul who spoke to us through pains from the injuries he sustained while he was been arrested and in the police station said he sold a set of bed to one Mrs. ogunfowokan who is a neighour too for 300,000. He said the woman told him clearly that she did not have the money at that time but within a week she will meet up with the payment, and because she has never requested for such, out of trust he gave the woman the bed, after a month the woman paid 150,000 and since then she pay in pieces, sometime 5, 10 thousand naira, three years later she still has 65,000 balance to pay, on that 19th of may, I saw this woman and asked her about my money, she turn everything to quarrel and before you know it, police from Area K storm my store, they just asked? are you chukwuka and I said yes, that was all before I could say anything about eight armed men bounce on me, beat me mercilessly drag me to their car without any explanation, getting to the station they said I should write a statement that I was dragging and fighting them to resist arrest, I was kept behind bar for over 72 hour, they beat me at interval ,they even gave me one tea, initially I resisted but because the beaten was too severe I took the tea, I have not gotten myself, my stomach is paining me because I don’t know what they use in preparing the tea, please Nigerians help me IG police help me your men want to kill me, they release me on Sunday since Thursday. My children were fatherless for three days, my wife too was a widow for three day. On his wife, he said she did not know why the police was after her husband life, she said she was strip naked by the men of the police force.

In our attempt to get eye witness account we met with 5 people who will not want their name mentioned, they said the police were wrong on how they went about handling the case, they said Paul was not at fault because he is a business man who sold his market and the woman refuses to pay him instead for her to beg, she claimed she know the police and she will use then to frustrate the man, this paper is determined to follow this case to a logical conclusion, so we will continue to update you our readers as event unfold, whatever will be the outcome of the whole story time will tell.

Lagos state Command arrests woman who kidnapped little boy in Lagos (photos)

 
The Lagos state Command has arrested Zainab Salisu, 42-year-old woman who kidnapped baby Fehintola Lawal from her mother Damilola Lawal at Abule Egba area. She pretended to help the mother back her child while sleeping and disappeared with the baby for 2 weeks until the operatives of the Npf Lagos State Command arrested her on Wednesday June 1.
Fehintola has been handed over to the mother while the police is still tracing the parents of the other boy who was also rescued from the kidnapper.
She will soon be charged to court.
Meanwhile the boy in blue pictured above was also rescued from the suspect. Does anyone know the boy's parents? He is currently with the family support unit of the command or anyone with useful information can call the lagos state command PPRO on 08029950048

"Wonders, they say, will never end indeed. Head pastor and founder of the Apostolic Good News Church International-Apostle Doglas Akwesi Amanoris been caught naked and pants down with Mrs. Mina Adjei, a married woman and a member of his church right on her materimonial bed at her EMEFS Estate residence at Lashiebi in Accra.
Mrs. Mina Adjei, is the wedded wife of Mr. Thomas Adjei- a Managing Director of an advertising company in Osu- Accra. The couple are married for nine (9) good years and blessed with two wonderful kids- a boy and a girl.
Speaking to the victimised husband upon a tip off by our newsdesk, Mr. Thomas Adjei, totally broken down in spirit and soul narrated his tragic experience to your Authoritative New Crusading GUIDE news team who followed up on the story.
"My wife and I have been having some marital problems for sometime now base on her recent attachments and relationship with other men, and over her constant nagging and reluctancy to pick the kids from school and take care of them in her shop- which is even closer to the school. She had never accepted her fault or explained to me peacefully even when caught redhanded with men in very uncompromising situations at odd times. Due to this, families and counselors advised that we seperated for a while due to her violent attitude whenever there is a little problem while the two families put heads together to resolve the issues.
On that fateful morning of Saturday May 7, 2016, at about 6:30am, I had left my hideout to the house to go and pack my belongings from the house, since my wife and I had earlier agreed that our EMEFS Estate rent had expire, and due to some hintches in business for now, we shall rather relocate into a much affordable appartment instead of renewing the rent again" he narrated.
But he said, the woman said she would not oblige to their earlier agreement, but rather claimed she has an uncle who says he would continue with the rent for her to stay in the EMEFS appartment all by herself.
He continued that, he went with a carpenter to help him fix and change some of the locks where necessary before he finally packs out since the woman says she may be staying in the house with her so-called uncle of a benefactor, till the families resolve the issues. He said, upon reaching the house, they started knocking at the main gate for sometime before a sister- in law came out to get the door.
"I greeted and entered the house as the man of the house and walked straight to our master-bedroom to knock on our bedroom door. But as I knocked for long minutes without any response at all, I then decided to push the door to see what was wrong with my wife in there, because her sister had already confirmed that she was inside.
As soon as I pushed the door opened, my wife rushed out to push it back aganst me! Wow, what is happening here- I wondered at her attitude? This gave me the idea to suspect that something fishy was definitely going on in the room, because of my past suspesion of her with other men in her car, so I decided to force the door open toenter at all cost. I then forced the door back on her, and lo and behold, here was a thick-tall dark man naked on my own materimonial bed with my wife in my room! How else could a man be traumatized in his life than this?” he lamented.
Describing his woes to the team, Mr. Adjei, underscored that, at the instance, his heart was terrified so much so that he could not move nor scream, so all he found himself doing was to start clapping his hands for them."
He said, after some seconds, he gathered some courage and decided to take some pictures for evidence.

"But to my amazement, my shameless wife suddenly pounced on me in an attack and tore my clothes to prevent me from taking the pictures, but when she realized she couldn’t stop me, she rather ran to her so-called daddy of a pastor and stared covering his face with the man’s underwears- shouting, ‘Daddy don’t allow him to take ur face!", he elaborated.
Mr. Adjei, who said he gathered all the courage not to be violent in the act continued that he left the scene quietly when he realized the wife was trying to be violent to cover up her shame and went back to his hideout to avoid any false accusations of assault.


He said, he managed to go to his own church the next day- Sunday May 8, and then reported the case to the Larshibi Vivian Farm police who later arrested the two who were granted bail the next day. The case has since been with the DOVVSU Department of the station for further resolvation.
According to Mr. Adjei however, had been the fact that, the wife is rather shamelessly going round tanishing his image and rather painting him so black to the world without any shame.
Every effort made by our team to contact the two accused persons (the wife and the pastor) for their sides of the story had proven futile, since all their known lines have been swiched off. The only available contact of Mrs. Adjei had also rang countlessly without any response.
Meanwhile, the police has given a confirmation of the case been reported to the Vivian Farm station at Larshibi, but says the case is under investigation and so they would want to hold on to their commits and further details for now. We shall however relentlessly continue to follow up this story to abreast our readers as it unfolds.
