Beyonce and Mariah Carey Rock the Same Balmain Minidress: Who Wore It Best?

Great divas think alike.
Mariah Carey sported a glitzy tiger-striped sequin Balmain minidress at the NBC Universal Upfronts on Monday in New York City, which also happens to be the same exact dress Beyonce wore back in March for a surprise performance at the 75th annual Center for Early Education gala -- her daughter Blue Ivy's elementary school. The two singers even accessorized the sparkly number similarly, rocking fishnet stockings underneath.

The only difference between the ensembles is the choice in footwear. The "Formation" singer opted to wear black ankle-strap heels, while Carey had more than a little bit of trouble walking in her super-high Christian Louboutins.

Though if you want to channel Beyonce and Carey, it doesn't come cheap -- the Balmain dress retails for $5,595.

This isn't the first time Beyonce, 34, and Carey, 46, have worn the same outfit. In 2014, the two also sported the same sexy sheer Roberto Cavalli dress, with Beyonce once again being the first to wear it by about three months.

Balmain Minidress:

Balmain's long-sleeved mini dresses are a coveted style among A-listers including Kate Moss and Jourdan Dunn. Covered in sequins to resemble the coat of a tiger, this silk-lined tulle piece has confident padded shoulders, a close fit and flattering V-neck. Wear it to your next event with a box clutch and sandals.

N145 pump price: FG, Labor meeting ends in deadlock, to continue today

The meeting between the Federal government and organized labor over the planned strike against the recently increased pump price of petrol, ended in a deadlock yesterday night and will continue today May 17th.

At the meeting, Labor leaders insisted that the only way the planned strike action will be shelved is for the Federal government to review the minimum wage upwards, improve the palliatives to cushion the effects of the fuel price hike on Nigerians and reconstitution of the board of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).‎

At the meeting, the Federal government delegation recognized the genuine request of the labor leaders for an increase in minimum wage but however stated that the timing for such an increase is wrong as the Federal government is presently grappling with financial crunch. ‎Present at the meeting which lasted over 4 hours were Ayuba Wabba, President of NLC, Joe Ajaero, President of National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Igwe Achese, and President of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Olabode Johnson, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, President of the TUC, Bobboi Bala Kiagama, NLC General Secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson, and the acting General Secretary of Trade Union Congress, Mr. Simeso Amachree, among others. Others are the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, and the Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly, Sen. Ita Enang, among others‎.

I regret not privatizing NNPC while I was in office- Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he regrets not privatizing the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, while in office. ‎ ‎Obasanjo said this at the opening of a two-day Maritime Stakeholders’ Conference in Lagos yesterday May 16th.

According to Obasanjo, the private sector have over the years shown to be very profitable in whatever project the Federal government gets them involved in ..
"NNPC is supposed to be doing well like Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG). The involvement of the private sector will ensure growth. The NLNG is making money for the government because of the involvement of the private sector. A general once left this country with two ships. He later came back with no accountability. That cannot happen in the private sector."he said Obasanjo said while he was Head of State, he bought a total of 19 ships for the petroleum sector but sadly, none of them can be accounted for now. According to him, one of the ships was sold off as scrab for $500, 000 and that the Federal government later bought the same ship for $2 million. It was repaired for $1million. He said he was informed that the same ship was later seized for not being sea worthy. " We were asked to pay $2 million. I told them to keep the ship. It was later released (without any payment)” he said.

FG may integrate Civilian JTF into military, police – Pres. Buhari says

President Buhari says the Federal Government may integrate members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) into the Nigerian military and police after the war against the Boko Haram ends.

President Buhari gave the insight while responding to questions at a press conference after the 2nd Regional Security Summit in Abuja on Saturday May 14th.

According to him, those who fall within the age bracket of recruitment may be considered
“For those who have received military training, it will be advised either to recruit them if they are within the age bracket of recruitment in the military or the police,” he said He spoke on the importance of the Civilian JTF in the fight against Boko Haram “They have been of tremendous help to the military because they are from there, they have local intelligence and some of them are retired military or retired policemen. Since they were drawn by the authorities of their respective states, they were taken into confidence and trusted. Personally, with the experience I have as a military man and during the civil war, using local intelligence, using local authorities from ward, to local government, to the state can improve our intelligence collection,” he said.
